Grant Guidelines

In 1998, the Jerry Metcalf Foundation inaugurated its annual award program. Each spring, the Foundation awards up to $50,000 to selected individuals and organizations. We are interested in making awards ranging from $1,000 to $50,000. The Foundation invites applications for both single- and multiple-year grants for the following purposes.

  • Specific projects
  • Buildings
  • Assets and endowments
  • Operation and administration costs
  • Matching funds

Application Process and Timeline

The grant application process involves two steps in order to make it as efficient as possible. Each step is briefly described below; please pay careful attention to the deadlines.

Step 1: Submit offical application form (click Here to download an Adobe Acrobat version of the form). With the completed form, send a two-page letter of interest, which includes a narrative description of the project and preliminary budget. It must be no more than two pages-typed double-spaced, 12-point font on white paper with NO attachments. Letters of Interest must be postmarked no later than March 15. The board will review all letters of interest Preliminary selection will be made and finalists notified by April 15.

Step 2: Submit full proposal to Foundation. Those selected for this step will receive specific instructions for completing this document. Full proposals must be postmarked no later than May 15.

The board will announce grant awards on June 8.
